Water Rights and Entitlements

The rules that guarantee every human being access to the minimum amount of safe, clean water, necessary to live a healthy life, free from potential risk of harm as outlined by the United Nations. These policies include protections from the illegal pollution and/or separation of individuals from sources of water, especially traditional water bodies used by local communities. They forbid discrimination or limitation of sanitation or clean water based on an individual’s place of residence or criminal status and ensure every individual has a say in decisions surrounding water and sanitation at both a local and national level.
